The Washington Club

The Washington Club began when John and Eliza Ashley of Grattan, Michigan, gathered seven other couples to meet on February 22, 1866, to celebrate the birth of America's first president, George Washington. The Washington Club is comprised of citizens from the Belding and Greenville, Michigan area. The Club honors its long history of mirth-inspired good fellowship between the cities. It boasts that it is one of Michigan's oldest social clubs which has met consecutively for 150 years.
